Location: Obtaining Information About a Non-Custodial Parent

As part of obtaining information about a non-custodial parent, the caseworker asks questions regarding:

  • residence
  • mailing address
  • place of employment
The location process includes making phone calls and sending notices by mail. This verifies a non-custodial parent's whereabouts and mailing address.

What if basic methods fail to locate the non-custodial parent?

If basic methods (for example, sending mail and making phone calls) do not result in getting the necessary information, then the Local CSE Unit can initiate a variety of other methods, including automated system searches.
