Module 1: Overview of NYS CSE Program

Support Enforcement:

Cash or Property Deposits

What Happens?

Court orders the non-custodial parent (NCP) (debtor) to deposit cash or property as security with the Support Collection Unit (SCU) for a specified time period. The SCU may use this money to make any payment that the NCP fails to pay when due.

Why it Happens?

The court may require that cash be deposited as compliance by the NCP with the support order if the court establishes that there is past due child support (arrears).
